Garbage can cleaning · season wrap-up · as of Oct 3, 2026

Where to go for the last run

Every sale from the crew's text thread, mapped and sorted by how long it has been since the cans were cleaned. Customers from July and August are due for one more clean before it freezes. Anyone cleaned in the last couple of weeks is left alone.

The plan

Day 1 · if you only get one day

North run: Elm Creek, then St. Michael

32past customers
$1,250if they all rebook
5–10 wkssince last clean
  • These are the oldest customers. Their cans have gone the longest, so the pitch is easy.
  • Morning: Elm Creek (NW Plymouth / Maple Grove), 12 customers around Zircon, Fountain and Everest Ln and 56th–62nd Ave.
  • Afternoon: St. Michael has three tight pockets: 44th Ln NE (5), Jamocha / Jandell / 49th Pl (7), Kadler Ave (5). One more customer in Otsego is on the way.
Day 2

Eden Prairie: the "gold mine"

16past customers
$785if they all rebook
4–5 wkssince last clean
  • Best door-knocking the crew had all season: 4 sales in the first 30 minutes on Aug 29.
  • Start on Preserve Blvd: 4 customers within one block, including a 4-can $100 house.
  • Then Amesbury Ln, Welters Way, Painters Ridge and Olympia Dr. Add the 4-can customer in Edina ($100, about 15 min away).
Not yet · best pool after ~Oct 10

Minnetrista (Woodland Cove / Hunter's Crest)

27past customers
$1,095biggest pool
2½–3½ wkssince last clean
  • Too soon to ask these folks again this weekend. They were cleaned Sep 10–16.
  • From about Oct 10 they pass the 4-week mark. If there's a third day, go here.
  • Another bin cleaner was working near Halstead Bay, so lock in repeats by text before they do.
Text only / skip

Everywhere else

  • Shorewood / Orono lake homes (6, from July): text them. Only drive out if 3 or more say yes. The lake area was poor for door-knocking because many of those homes have maintenance staff.
  • Skip for now: Brooklyn Park, Chanhassen, Medina / Corcoran, Prior Lake, Smithtown Rd. All were cleaned within the last 2–4 weeks.

Playbook for each day: text the customers in that area the evening before, build the route from the yeses, then door-knock the same streets while the trailer is parked. 52 of the 90 sales with an address were on a street where the crew had already landed another customer. Neighbors buy together.

Heat shows

Bright spots are where the most repeat money is, weighted by what each customer paid. The numbered circles show how many customers in that area are due on the date above. Tap one for the area's totals.

Areas ranked

Updates with the date above. "Due" means at least 4 weeks since their last clean.

Field notes from the thread

What sold

  • Upper-middle-class subdivisions, not the richest streets. Big lake homes have maintenance people (Aug 1, Minnetonka: zero sales until 5 pm).
  • Most people answer after 5 pm. Saturday 9–11 am and Sunday 2–5 pm also work.
  • Once you land a house, knock both neighbors right away.
  • Typical ticket: $50 for 2 cans, $30 for 1.

Watch out

  • Aggressive dog on Lake Susan Hills Dr in Chanhassen. It bit Cash on Sep 19, and he knows which house.
  • Another bin-washing outfit was seen near Halstead Bay in Minnetrista, and one is based in Big Lake, so skip Monticello.
  • Always text the full address with street name and city. "Kadler Ave NE" without St. Michael sent the GPS to Rockford.
  • A few customers have special requests (a scent allergy, "knock quietly"). Check the customer list before each stop.

Not on this map

  • The thread doesn't have every sale. Timmy reported $1,800 for the week of Aug 3, and the 5 Minnetonka sales from Aug 1 were never texted in.
  • 6 sales had no usable address, so they count in the totals but aren't on the map.
  • Scouted but never tried: the Parkview Cir neighborhood in Anoka and Summerland Place in Shakopee.

Customer names, phone numbers and addresses are kept off this page. Locations on the map are rounded to about a block. Ask for the customer call list to set up the texts.
